LifeLock Setup and Registration

LifeLock's usability isn't that hard if you already know the basics of every software. Just like other programs, it will require a few of your personal data for registration, such as:

  • Complete name
  • Email address
  • Home address
  • Date of birth
  • Confirmed Social Security Number
  • Phone number

You will also be required to provide a valid identification card and your credit card for payments.

For LifeLock's programs set up, it will give you the opportunity to set up the device security, VPN, and password manager on your own. Don't worry, activating these features are oh so easy with just a few clicks!

Its password manager is another privacy tool that will help you recall the dozens of passwords you have. It will be installed as an extension to your browser and will require you an authentication process and will act as a vault, which is a storage for your log-in credentials (usernames and passwords) for all your accounts in different services and websites.

What are the features of LifeLock?

Credit Monitoring and Credit Reporting

The three major credit-reporting agencies work together with LifeLock. TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax will cover credit monitoring every three months, as well as annual credit reports and scores. However, tri-bureau credit monitoring is only applicable to the highest subscription option. Otherwise, you will only get one-bureau, which is from Equifax.

Take a look at these plans for credit monitoring and credit reporting

  • Norton 360 with LifeLock Select: Credit monitoring only from Equifax
  • Norton 360 with LifeLockAdvantage: Credit monitoring only from Equifax

To dispute a credit report, LifeLock gives you 5 steps to follow:

1. Identify any credit report errors such as incorrect credit limits, inaccurate account balances, a closed account that is still being reported as open, and more.

2.  Contact the furnisher or the company that provides any erroneous information, which could be any entity like utility companies or banks.

3. Allow time for investigation

4. Follow up after investigation assuming that you already have the copy of your changed credit report and results of the investigation in writing.

LifeLock's website can also be used in locating your credit score and credit report by clicking on the "Credit Score & Report" tab. To access these features, you have to log-in using your username and password. For their mobile app users, your credit score is the only one made available for you to check.

All credit scores will be based on the VantageScore3.0 model, which is an educational score that is similar to the actual FICO that banks use. Moreover, this is calculated from your actual credit report.

  • You don’t receive bills or other mail.
  • You notice withdrawals from your bank account that you didn’t make.
  • You see unfamiliar accounts or charges on your credit report.
  • You get calls from debt collectors about debts you didn’t incur.
